The dinner and festivities

A candle lit dinner inside the ship hall alongside the grand 17th century ship Vasa is something you will probably never forget! The Gala Dinner venue is conveniently and beautifully located in the Royal national park, Djurgården, just a few tram stops from the congress venue. The dinner includes a three-course meal and drinks. Following the dinner, a late night party commences where you will be dancing with the shores of Stockholm at your feet.

The ship

The Vasa is a Swedish warship built between 1626 and 1628 on the orders of the king of Sweden, Gustavus Adolphus. Richly decorated as a symbol of the king’s ambitions for Sweden and himself, upon completion she was one of the most powerfully armed vessels in the world. However, the ship foundered and sank after sailing about 1,300 meters into her maiden voyage on 10 August 1628. She was salvaged in 1961 and the Vasa Museum is now the most visited museum in Scandinavia.
